Crispy Parmesan-Crusted fish and fries! 🍟
Ingredients:
For the Fish:
- 4 fish fillets (white fish like cod or tilapia works great)
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg (beaten)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- Olive oil (for frying)
For the Fries:
- 4 large potatoes (peeled and cut into fries)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Instructions:
For the Fish:
- Prepare the Coating: In a shallow bowl, combine grated Parmesan, panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Set up the Dipping Stations:
- In one bowl, place the flour.
- In another, the beaten egg.
- In the third bowl, the Parmesan breadcrumb mixture.
- Coat the Fish:
- Dredge each fillet first in flour, then dip in the egg, and finally coat in the Parmesan breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure it sticks.
- Fry the Fish: Heat a generous amount of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully place the coated fish fillets in the skillet. Fry each side for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
For the Fries:
- Prepare the Potatoes: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss the potato fries with olive oil, salt, pepper, and paprika. Spread them evenly on a baking sheet.
- Bake the Fries: Bake for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fries are golden and crispy.
Serve:
- Place the crispy Parmesan crusted fish next to the golden fries on a plate.
- Optional: Serve with a side of tartar sauce, lemon wedges, or a fresh salad.
Enjoy your crispy, flavorful meal!
